From super skinny to normal weight, anyone ?

Hello folks !!
I’ll make this as short as possible,

Next July i’ll be 21 years old, my height is 1.68m (5.5 feet) and my weight is 50kg!!(110 pounds)
i know that the main reason for this (if not the only reason) is my eating and sport attitude, those two are like my worst enemies,
i don’t want to eat a lot (some time i stay like 10 or 12 hours without eating anything), and am completely anti-sport guy…
but this month i decided to try and change that, am heading to the gym next week, a lot of people told me that once i start exercising i will automatically eat more, so i will certainly gain some weight in the first months unless my body is buggy (which i doubt it by the way xD)
anyway,
i want to ask if there is anyone here had the same “problem” before and want to share his experience and maybe give some advice, i would really appreciate that,
one last thing,
by saying “anti-sport” dude, i really mean the kind of person that cannot even touch his toes lol
i wounder how all that fitness thing will go ;D
(anyone remember this xD ?)

thank’s a lot and am really happy to post again here, it’s been a long time ::slight_smile:

I went from 44kg to 78kg over 2 years.

16 in the first pic.

18 in the second pic.

19 years old now, happier than ever

Just go to the gym, drink a lot of protein shakes and oh, don’t forget your multivitamins.

Umm… I’m not really a gym guy or anything, but I have been there a few times. If it will be your first time in the gym, you might wanna skip legs for the first time.
You might not be able to get out of bed next day lol ;D

Try to be full at all times and have fat-rich foods in the house at all time. The more fat, the less you’ll need to get the same number of calories. So you don’t have to sit for excruciating amounts of time stuffing your face. You might want to put something edible next to your computer, at least for me, when I can sit and casually eat while doing something else it’s much less boring.

Eat as much meat as you can.
Start working out your legs with your body weight some time before starting with weights - or you can be brutal and just take the soreness as it comes.

GG !!

does it really works ?? it can “replace” food ?

Well it supplements food. Don’t replace all your food with protein shakes but WPC can be used to fill in many calories. I was on 3000 KCals a day while bulking and as you probably know thats a lot, so I was drinking insane amounts of WPC to fill in the gaps.

Please no… Don’t replace your food. If you’re just starting out, you don’t need protein shakes or vitamins. Just make sure to meat lots of protein food (meat and shit…) and fruits and vegetables.

You might wanna avoid all starchy food if you’re really into healthy diet (potatos, rice, wheat flour and flour overall) as they are shit. You shouldn’t eat sugar at all. Not talking about sweets.

But… Noone does that (almost) .

well to be honest i just want some weight :stuck_out_tongue: i don’t care if it’s muscle or fat, but when i think about it, it looks like this :
you work out–> you Feel hungry—>you want to eat more (anything)–>and you are building muscles
isn’t that what should happened ?
the real question is after when u’ll notice a change lol

When you exercise with weights you are actually causing microtears in your muscles damaging them.

When you eat you are providing your body with calories to repair these microtears, this is why muscles get stronger/bigger.

Therefore to get bigger you need to eat more calories than you burn.

Haha this makes me feel guilty.

I was on a daily diet of McDonalds and protein shakes while I was bulking from my 2011->2013 pic.

Oh well, the girls love it

You will never notice change probably. Unless you take pictures. Each day you would just be a bit bigger. There wouldn’t be that “big change”. No overweight man get overweight overnight. They don’t notice it. Same here. You will just get big without noticing

Deal 8)
working time=>

Just a little question, can you remember the daily average amount of food you had when you just started ?

I was literally mixing whey protein into all my food…

For breakfast I mixed oats with chocolate whey protein

Lunch I had chicken wraps and whey protein

In between I had about 4-8 mcdoubles a day

and for dinner I just ate whatever I wanted, usually more protein shakes and steak.

Just remember to not strain yourself too much the first few times. It doesn’t matter if some other guys are doing things a lot heavier than you are doing. Don’t be embarrassed! Hell I can only bench with 15’s on both sides and I started with 10’s. Just started working out with the team in my school for upcoming season. Most of them are benching twice as much as I can and sometimes I get snickered at, but quite honestly, screw them. As long as the end product is good, right  ? Seriously though, there will always be people that will be able to do more than you at whatever you are doing, whether it be working out, school, or something else. But there’s absolutely no reason you can’t work up to that.

I used to work out a ton in my early teen years… now, not as much. But I generally didn’t put on much muscle, I just became very defined. Don’t expect to get huge, but do expect to feel really good about yourself and generally a lot more alert and awake about your surroundings. I only stopped because I was quite literally becoming a meat head, and didn’t know anything about anything besides working out. That’s not who I wanted to be, and you really need to regulate yourself if you feel it becomes addicting.

For someone with no experience in the gym, it’s a good idea to start out with a trainer. Hire a personal trainer for two or three times a week for a few months if you can afford it, consult with the on-duty trainer(s) at your gym if you can’t. Much better to hire someone, as they can give you their full attention each hour and guide you every step of the way.

This is actually rather important if you want results. You could workout by yourself for a year and see very little difference, otherwise. Form is the most fundamentally important thing a trainer will teach you. Every exercise has a proper form of execution to achieve maximum result, or even any result at all in some cases. There are a number of other factors to consider as well, such as number of sets & reps for each exercise, which exercises are right for you, weight progression between sets, diet, and so much more (not to mention safety).

I know people who have gone from zero to hero without a trainer, but in my experience most people without one go nowhere. Another important factor a personal trainer can help you with is motivation. That’s the key to everything. Exercise is a lifestyle. Once you get the body shape you want, you have to continue to work to keep it. Someone who has never made that commitment has a very big step to take to get there. It takes a great deal of self-discipline to do so without a trainer.

I worked with a trainer for six months when I first started out. And I’m glad I did. She taught me everything I needed to know to continue on by myself.

Oh wow… you went from 3rd place in a chess tournament to karate black-belt. (But seriously what was the medal for?)

Personally, I’m 1,78m (5’10) and weigh around 55kg.

A year ago I served my military time and had 53kg as i started. During that time I got up to 60kg, so I can confirm that exercising really does help (obviously). But when that was over and I went back to being a lazyass, my weight went back to 55kg, my current weight.
But you know what, I dont really care. I may look like a skeleton but I’m quite okay with that. Love your body ™

When you go to the gym: ;D

  1. Only the stupid ones take more weight then they can handle. Nobody cares about how much you lift, you have to do the exercises the right way!
  2. Don’t take any drugs, many gyms want to sell products, you don’t need them.
  3. If you go to the gym, you have to go continuous.
  4. Don’t do some “super professional body-builder training”, if you wanna gain weight, you shouldn’t go 5 times per week, 3 times is ok. Don’t care about food to much, as long as you eat 3000 ckal it’s ok. But don’t eat creepy mc-donald stuff. It’s better then eating nothing but “bad” food isn’t good if you want to train hard.
  5. Don’t eat close before going to the gym, if you are hungry during the training you did something wrong! You can eat a small amout of carbs, but no proteins before the training! After you trained hard, eat a lot of proteins, vitamins and carbs. It’s essential that you eat after training.
  6. Never be lazzy, even if you are completely exhausted because of work/school whatever. You have to go to the gym! If you stop it once, you might stop it for a long peroid of time.
  7. Don’t over-train, if you have a muscle ache, give your body a rest. You gain muscels (weight) during the rest.
  8. Don’t be frustrated because some days are shitty or you gain not as fast as you would like.

So all in all: train well and hard, eat enough, don’t be lazzy
And never be a jerk and forget that:
