Flip Code is coming back.

It shut down 7 years ago. Now there is an announcement that it will be coming back.

Wow, that archive is a treasure chest!

[quote]What is flipcode? Well, I’ve always said, “game development harmony.”

I don’t understand, what is this actually? I hadn’t touched internet 7 years ago.

W00t! I used to love going to FlipCode!

Flipcode was ace, I wept inside when it closed down and I really didn’t understand it at the time, the site was incredibly active. I assumed it was an issue of finances really.

But now that I’ve found my place in java dev land and with the existence of JGO, I wonder if I would still find it as useful.

So IMHO, that site is tutorial library for all langs?

Mostly C/C++ as the base language; the most useful articles actually described something theoretical, with a proof of concept attached to it if the author was really nice.

But more than that it was more like a pleasant “home” for game developers of all backgrounds. I enjoyed visiting it daily and checking out what was new and what people had to say. It was also my main resource for knowing what was new in game development land (“the daily flip”). Far more than gamedev.net was anyway.

Yay,

I used to read it everyday and was a sad when it closed. I wonder if it can pick up momentum again.

I’ve never gotten into following a bagillion tweeter feeds nor a blogs…flipcode was a nice way to keep semi-aware of new stuff that been presented…much awesomeness if it stays alive.
