The big issue is: Flash is here now. HTML5 will be nowhere for about 5 years. Sod waiting. In 5 years time Flash 15 will have a Crysis-level 3D scenegraph engine in it and a JIT to rival Hotspot server. HTML5 will have just settled into a shakily implemented “standard” with a collection of hax and bodges to make it work on everyone’s different browsers, which right now already number about 5 OSes times 5 browsers times 3 versions that people need to figure out support for.
Plugins = latest tech available now.
Standards = wait five years to get the lowest common denominator.
