Flash remoting for online-games

Hi All,

I have a client/server simulation application written in Java. I wanted to put it on web for online clients. To make it web enabled, i needed to find a best way with less efforts. ofcourse one option is applet, but I don’t want to go in this direction. I heard about Flash Remoting for online games but does it supports realtime 3d games?. Can you guys tell me, if this is a right choice to go for or their is any other better option that is available.

Thanks,
Nadeem Rafique

If you want 3d you’re out of luck with Flash. The only similar web thing that really does it is Director and that is seriously nasty to work with.

I seem to remember WildTangent’s stuff looked ok a few years back, but I think it will cost you to licence it.

If its all already in Java why not just use Java Web Start??

Thanks for your interest,

What is different in using Java Web Start and Applets?

Applets are highly limited in what they can do. Web Start will run full Java Applications
off the web page.
