very interesting - first one to make a swf player for java ?
technically, its not opensource though - it merely removes some licensing restrictions. They need to open up their implementation too.
I won’t be cheering until Adobe makes a free Flash authoring program.
Does this mean that sun can make a 100% java player for youtube type video files?
If so, I hope they do this instead of making the half-baked solution they are working on now which is to play media be embedding a heavyweight windows media player component, which only allows playback rather than editing etc and has other limitations.
