Files wiped to null

So I was working on a project, but shifting around some packages containing lots of class files. However, some things went way wrong and now half of the files I created (13000 lines of my code, 10000 lines of vorbis), are wiped to null. I was wondering if there was a way to recover the files. I had been making backups daily, but I kept them in my workspace (which caused them to all be wiped null too). I’m probably screwed but I wanted to know if anybody had a way to fix my issue.
Also, I tried the local history but it was empty…

Hope somebody can help…

Thanks for the link but Eclipse local history is empty and I didn’t have windows file history enabled. I had backups, but they were in my workspace so all the backups back to like 3 weeks ago were wiped…

Did you do any system back ups to your PC? Or did you use Git Hub or something

No. I was stupid and only backed up my game files in a directory in my eclipse workspace, so many of my backups got corrupted.

If it was a virus or something you installed you can restore windows to a previous time.

It wasn’t a virus. There was an issue when moving some packages containing class files that resulted in a bad close.

Um, did you try to access that workspace through documents and check it out?

I opened the files even outside of eclipse and the files were filled with null characters.

Unless you can restore from a previous version, there is no way to convert the null characters back into your code.

It takes literally 10-15 minutes to setup a repo and learn how to do the basics. Push every time you finish coding.

I see another one of these threads I am going to go insane.

EDIT: Wester Digital MyPassport harddrives start at around £40 and come with an automatic backup app, constantly copies over files that have changed. I haven’t looked back.
