Well I had no problems with programming. My parents wanted me to be a tenure tracked prof preferably winning a few notable prizes and having a low Erdos number. They were thrilled when I was in my room programming instead of hanging out with my undesirable friendsā€¦of course the parents of my undesirable friends were happy as well as their kids werenā€™t with me.

I came out of my cave once and found that my entire family had been dead for 40+ years. Just bones. I guess that when you are so focused on something you donā€™t see the other important things in your life.
