now that the GDC is over we seriously need to fix the non-working e-mail notification “feature” here in the forum.
Please admin(s), let’s fix it.

Definitely need fixing! It’s really annoying.
In my opinion, it didn’t even have to be by email, could be through a “message” in the website itself.
Other issue is, in Opera, if I add smileys they always go to the end of the post, no matter what I do. Do other people face that too, or is it my problem?
I know it works well with IE…
I get the same with Mozilla. Basically it’s likely to be crummy javascript (at the moment it checks for MSIE, Netscape, Opera, WebTV, and Konqueror which is an interesting combination - and it denies access to all others)

The e-mail notification has been working for me ever since I joined this forum (which is not long ago). But I agree, pedro, that a message on the forum itself would suffice.

Still doesn’t work reliably at all, unfortunately.
Still working for me, though I can’t say anything about reliability. I know that I am notified about some of the topics…don’t know if there are others which I am not notified about.
Maybe the bug got fixed for people who registered after some date?

I had to update my email address in my profile the other day…and in doing so, the system reset my password and said my new passowrd would be included in the automated email just sent by the system…
…I never received the email.
…So I had to create a totally new account. Very annoying!

Well, I tried the password reminder feature for the 10th time or so, and it finally worked! Maybe things are back to normal now?

The e-mail notification works 1 time out of 10, vaguely.
Is the GDC over now? Or which GDC has been meant with “will be adressed after the GDC”? 2005?
The reason I’m asking again is because I loose most of the discussion threads here. I don’t have got the time to poll the forum regularly and watch out for all new articles and threads, so I depend on being e-mail informed about new articles on my subscribed threads.
Please moderators, ahem, administrators, do address this e-mail notification problem.
hmm, I keep seeing this message once in a while on the recent list, and its post date is today - yet it was posted a long time ago, and it’s not been edited since ?
I post a new message with same text occasionally, in order to see when notifaction is going to work.
The old “article” I remove so they don’t flood the thread.

The forum’s E-Mail notification doesn’t work reliably, at least not when it goes the route USA -> Europe.
People lose many threads they’d participate otherwise.
