DuoBall - My first finished project

Hi

I have for the first time managed to finish creating a game.
I would love if you would try it and give me some feedback.
It is a cooperation game for your brain sides.

Well, I gave it a try.

I enjoyed the game’s simplicity and ease to get the concept. It managed to keep me hooked all the way until the end. Is there a specific specification for these types of games, like Timed Puzzler or something? I just find games like these very fun and challenging. The ramp up of difficulty really spikes during the last 3 levels. It was frustratingly difficult (due to my two sides of my brain conflicting with each other), especially the 2nd and 3rd to last. It made me want to rip the two halves of my brain out.

Other than that, it is a pretty fun game… (maybe java4K smaller version worthy? :point: )

Thank you, I am happy that a few people have actually tried it :).

I don’t know about a genre, with my english I view it as an execution game, not really as a puzzle.

I don’t think I will go for a 4k version.
I made the game as a level design challenge, and at the moment I would rather learn some shader-programming or path finding. But you never know ;).

very cool and challenging game
keep working and good luck for your next project
just a little question ::slight_smile:
you’ve been learning Java for a long time ??

Kind of difficult to say how long.

I made two very simple java-games when I was like 14 (21 now), I took up java again half a year ago.
I have done quite a bit of php/js in the mean time, so I am familiar with programming.

Indiestatik was nice enough to do a small article: http://indiestatik.com/2013/04/17/duoball/

First game and you get an article written :o
You will have a great future in gamedev

Did you send them press release?

Yeah, I send a short mail to indiestatik, rockleesmile and rock paper shotgun.
Rockleesmile wasn’t interested, and rock paper shotgun have not replied.

I think it is quite fun to try the release site of making games.

Edit: If you are thinking about making a press release yourself, my mails content is more or less what I posted about this game. I think the line “It is a cooperation game for your brain sides.” Is good because it describes the game in riddles. It gives writers an angle to an article, and should make them somewhat curious. At least that was my idea
