DT-Zhen, a tile-based logical puzzle game

DT-Zhen is a tile-based logical puzzle game in which the player is trapped inside a room, the player’s objective is to move/destroy the obstacles, destroy all the cannons and find his way to the exit.

The obstacles can be pushed but not pulled (just like the Sokoban game).
The cannons can only be destroyed by collateral damages of bomb explosion.

The web page is quite verbal. Just go ahead and play the game! The only thing that you must read is the tutorial on bomb deployment and launching. Because they are little bit tricky. Please try the game and comment on it.

Happy box pushing and bomb deployment!

Please also try the Dihedral Tile Puzzle.

The original version downloads a random image from my web site, and then scramble/rotate/flip it. The objective of the game is to restore the original image.

It seems that the Java’s security box is an annoyance. I rewrote it so it now loads the images directly from the jar. So I don’t have to sign the jar.

No screenshots?

x2.

Sorry about the missing screenshots. Here are the screenshots of the two puzzles/games. (The current versions look slightly different):

The most unique feature of this puzzle is the way bombs are deployed and launched. You have to deploy the bombs on the side and set the bomb to trace around the boundaries. When two bombs collide, they will explode and destroy things in the vicinity. The deployment and launching of the bombs are a little bit involved.

The most unique feature of this puzzle is the tiles can be of different sizes and orientations. Just drag one tile to another tile to swap the tiles.

Please try both puzzles/games and comment on them.

I tried DT-Zhen, but I can’t place any bom. I press Ctrl and a cursor key but nothing happens (it says I have 2 bombs)??

I think that the game would need some animations, like when the character is moving.

Thank you plying the game. Please look at tutorial 2 (it is just under the game).

Please refer to the detail instruction in tutorial 2.

Before you place the bomb, please make sure the character is facing the wall/block. You can do this by Shift-arrow key. For example: Press Shift-right to make him face the right (East).

Then you place the bomb by Ctrl-arrow key. For example: Press Ctrl-down to make him place a South-heading bomb.

Once you place the two bombs, you can press Space key to launch them. The procedure is a little bit tricky, but once you try it, you would probably find it quite effective. Of course, if you or others have other suggestions, please let me know.

You can replay any completed level using PgUp/PgDn keys. After you successfully placed and launched the bombs and leave the room, please replay the same level and experiment placing/launching the bombs elsewhere. Also try standing next to where the bombs are supposed to collide!
