Drakensang Online?

I saw this game won a bunch of game-of-the-year type awards, so I went to check it out, and runs in-browser with Java. Is this game really written in Java? Or is it just some Java based launcher technology? Why wouldn’t it be a featured game on this site? Can anyone else confirm?

It is nice and it is java.

I was just looking at that the other day. It runs pretty good, and is pretty fun. Well done for an applet.

hmm, having a quick look at the tech behind it, it seems to be using Nebula3 which isn’t a Java game engine.

So looks like its just using Java as a stepping stone to deploy a native app (hence why it only supports Windows).

It does look very nice though.

They builded MMO in 8months. They should get medal.

8 Month?! That’s impressive, and something to inspire to.

I think kappa is right: there is a Java launcher that runs a Windows native executable. I’m sure someone knows how to confirm this quickly.

The way this works is really weird. It’s a Java applet that runs a Windows process called “app.n3app”. Notice the extension, not the regular “.exe” one. This also confirms the Nebula3 usage.

Just me or does it look very similar to diablo? or maybe that is just the trailer.

is very impressive though for 8 months! I am actually contemplating checking it out if I ever get a free moment.
