So, assuming I manage to actual write and finish a J2ME game are there aggregators out there who will take it on and handle the selling process?

Check out Nokia’s latest move in this area, Preminet. I haven’t been following whether or not it’s actually succeeding, but in principle if it is succeeding it ought to be just the ticket.
Looks really interesting, though doesn’t appear to be in full swing yet. Could be absolutely brilliant from a content providers point of view.
