Not sure if I’m just behind or whether this is just an underutilised tool. I particularly hate GIMP for its evil evil interface… this however is beautiful:

I tried that free (older) version and it was pretty weird (*). Maybe the newer version can do alot more?
I dunno… hadn’t tried the demo (of the latest version), because it’s no-save-crippled and the full version costs more than a used copy of photoshop 6.0. Some of the screenshots look pretty impressive… and I think it can be used to create pretty neat arty to photorealistic textures.

Version 1.2 is complete and free.

Ye… that’s the one I tried.
I must admit that I’ve overseen quite alot of options, but still… It just feels totally weird. I can’t even do the most basic things properbly and I just need layers. Well, there you have single buffers, which can be slapped together but you can’t for example try out different blending modes easily (undo, next one, undo, next one etc).
Well, it’s better than gimp
I gave it another try this morning, but its still somewhat odd for me. Say… how do you clone things? (For making tileable textures) Like… that stamp tool from photoshop…
I managed to do a tileable texture without that, but the way I did it doesnt work for all kinds of textures. Hm.
Well, I think I’ll keep it around. Randomly messing around with it is pretty funny
Found the other messing around arty programm

Charlotte’s used DogWaffle quite a bit and she thinks it’s really very good. She’s also got Painter 7 so it’s quite an accolade.

Thanks, I’ll give it a go.!!!
