Does this look like an okay start to a 3D mobile game?

This is my second game, first 3D. I actually haven’t quite completed my first game, but I’m about there.

I don’t have a splash screen, loading screen, or any type of menu, just basically gameplay and a way to change the areas/levels. I do have a character that walks along the path in circles though. I need to add a blue backpack to my main character and make the backpack do something rather than switching levels…

Here’s a video…

Looks pretty good for a mobile game, smooth movement. Nice start! What’s the gameplay going to be like?

Thanks.

I want to make a puzzle like game, where the character has to collect items and use them(maybe in combinations) to achieve goals within the levels. Basically switching back and forth between the areas, collecting items, talking to other characters to receive new tasks, and using items to complete those tasks.

I’d like to improve the graphics though.

Right now I’m just making the engine and trying to optimize it as much as possible.

My only comment is that it’s somewhat awkward looking to control since you’re using buttons instead of a an analog for 3D motion. Sure you can control that way, but you typically need something to control strafing and the like as well. ^^; Unless you want to make it a 3D tile based movement or something.

Yeah that’s something I’ll need to work on. Maybe add in a jump button as well and move the backpack to the middle-bottom of the screen.

I also need to set it up so that the camera will stay out of objects.

Progress is progress, has to start somewhere!

Looks good so far.

It’s NOT Okay. It’s AWESOME.
