Hi I am new here, i just want to know that if create multiple member IDs consider as SPAM ?

It depends.

There is absolutely no good reason to use multiple identities. Having said that, we ‘banhammers’ have better things to do with our time than checking accounts for shared IPs, as it is perfectly possible that different people with as much accounts are behind a single IP, so we probably won’t notice.

If you misbehave however, that typically means spamming, expect all accounts that accessed this forum using that IP to be banned.

thanks for prompt report. No worry, I won’t do that. I just want to be whistleblower to let you know that there is a Malaysia SEO guy called Masterjohn SPAM your forum by creating multple IDs,

Thanks for reporting it.

We have currently thousands of zero-post accounts created by spambots.

As long as they don’t post, (and as long as we can’t run some SQL queries to clean it up in a second) we’re not going to bother, much.

But don’t you think in this situation you are encouraging people to create more Ids with Zero post ?

And for the zero post, although they don’t post, but they may put many links in their profile’s website or signature to link to
commercial websites for advertising purpose (SEO backlinks) or worse if they link to porns, gambling website or virus trojan website.

In this situation don’t you think it will hurt the forum image ?

Nobody wants to manually remove 10.000 accounts through a web interface.
