Do Wii want it?

Just think…when the can next release an upgraded version with more advanced hardware and performance and call it…

eXtreme Wii

( the capital X is always critical to it beeing REALLY eXtreme ) 8)

They could dispense with the X altogether, to show true extremeness and just call it “Wii-Stream”

At first i found the name Revolution odd, maybe cos it was around the time the Matrix Revolution came out but it slowly grew on me and revolution began to sound ok, and now Wii, donno what nintendo marketing department was thinking but i’m hoping i’ll start getting use to it, instead of associating it with pee.

But i gotta hand it to nintendo for trying something new and innovative. (the hardware that is not the name :))

Ahhhh, so thats what everone has been finding so funny

Guess Wii’re in this one for the long haul…
DP

Haha! Looks that way.

so the horror is here to stay >_<

it’s all about the games… it’s all about the games…

i’d say the name is good for nintendo, even though it isn’t nice (IMO) just look at the publicity its generated for nintendo!

My other time/money sink hobby is Land Rover off roading. On one of the message boards for that there was an interresting discussion about the naming of some of the vehicles on the market and some nameplay going on there. That and some interresting GIMP/Photoshop work gave us the Suzuki Grand Viagra and Honda CRVX.

How is that in anyway related to Nintendo Wii?

he’s just mentioning other products that have odd names.

but if you’re desperate for a commonground, the Wii, Grand Viagra, and CRVX (“cervix”) all reference human genitalia

Oh okay. Now I see the referance. Thanks for clarifing that, woogley.

Sorry if it seemed to come a bit out of the blue there. As translated, I was taking a little jab at companies that pick product names without doing a bit more research in translation / interpretation by the boored masses. Maybe Nintendo’s choice was a great one though, because it does have people talking which helps develop name recognition and that’s often considered one of the most important steps for the success of any product.

Now if they made a hand-held portable version would it be called the Little Wii ?

Well, the WII Microsite were updated. Haven’t found the international version yet. But for those who where familiar with the german language can check it out here:

//edit:
here the english version:

It is allready known that Wii will come with a small flash memory for saving old games, patches and updates etc. But the coolest thing is, there is a slot for an additional SD Card  Put your SD Card in the slot, save your stuff and move to your friend to share it. In the end I hope that this sharing works. There is nothing mentioned about this in the text, but as long as I can put my own SD Card into the slot I assume that I can share the content

can you stick in your camera SD Card in there and watch pictures on your tv? that would make it a wii bit more appealing for a lot of ppl.

Don’t know if that is supported. But as it is designed as harddrive for the emulated games and other Wii related stuff I doubt it.
