Pointless background story:
I was sitting at home watching a video on my laptop when one of my kids walk over and something like “gummy bear”. I didn’t get that, but I figured they could watch some kids videos, so I look up something kiddy friendly, slap the laptop on the table and go to do something else. I come back after a few minutes to check up on them, and the kids are happily watching something, so I walk over to see what it is, and it naturally is The Gummy Bear Song. That might not seem so strange, but they are 4 years old and can barely type their own names, and they have never used my computers at home. As I later find out, they use youtube at kindergarten and apparently are capable of finding the gummy bear song via “Related Videos” using no more than 5 clicks from any video at youtube I was almost starting to think they were running some sweatshop power leveling at kindergarten, but the bags of perler beads they come home with seems to contradict that.
Anyway, as I learned that my kids are able to use computers in combination with my back not really being in shape, preventing me from long-term after work hours of game-coding at the moment, I decided to get my kick from quick kiddie games. One evening of game logic and one for polish. The instant positive feedback from my kids was great and I could use it with “only one more time each, if you are good at brushing your teeth and going to bed afterward”.
Well, long story, but the game is simply: turn around cards and try to find pairs of same pictures. If you know, or are a 3 - 103 year old child, then go ahead and
Play Dinosaur memory
As always, let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions for improvement. Provide specs if you have problems running the game.
I created two more games, that I will post shortly as well.
