Diary

Would anyone be interested if a wrote a little diary of my game development?

There’s several purposes to posting a diary now and again:

[]Provide something for you to laugh at
[
]Hype my game up plenty
[]Put it out in public so I’m forced to finish it through shame
[
]Oh, and maybe help out with some tidbits on how I solved problems

Y’all know, having a few online diary/project type things would be a good addition to this site when things eventually get put back up together again (anyone any ideas when that’ll be? Anyone?) much like some of flipcode’s hosted sites. Plus it’d mean that there might be more regular updates if a few willing bodies were to get involved. I’ve got into the habit of doing an ongoing diary/todo/wish list for my projects, and just about to start on another for my latest project, it seems to help with motivation alot. ;D

Yup, that’d be good stuff. Especially if you can include some more or less step by step account of implementing a game - problems, successes, stuff that you ended up refactoring into a general purpose library, etc.

I started doing something like that here:

See the “Development notes” at the bottom of the page. For my next game maybe I can include some more details on blind alleys, refactorings, etc…

Good luck,

tom
