DevIL maintainers

Yo…

I can’t recall who is maintaining the DevIL binding. If it is CaptainJester I sent a PM and haven’t received word…

I am interested in getting ILU support rolling as I have a use for it.

I’ve not worked on any C/C++ bindings before and have reviewed the Swig docs, but things didn’t move as rapidly as I’d have liked… I am assuming Swig is being used for the bindings.

I would appreciate a few comments on how the binding for IL was made and perhaps all of the files and resources used to create it so that I may examine them and continue work on ILU. I have time to do this and will release my work to the LWJGL community, so hit me up.

The Jester is rarely on these forums… try down at lwjgl.org, where I notice he’s already begun work on ILU.

Actually I visit these forums every day. Missed the PM though.

ILU is in CVS and limited testing shows that it works. Only iluRegionfv and iluRegioniv are not implemented yet. Also I noticed iluRotate3D is not implemented in the native lib, but is shown in the docs. Also the docs are a little out of date.

As far as SWIG goes, I don’t know what you are talking about. I used JNI to implement it.

ps. ILUT is not far behind.

Swig is just a library that produces 90% of a binding, at the expense of very ugly code. Better to “handcode” it like the rest of lwjgl. Besides - it is rather easy once you get the gist of it.

To that I can agree. I am starting to get the han gof it.

Yep… I certainly am for the handcoding path, but haven’t spent the time yet… Too much other stuff to deal with…

Well… I’ll be glad to test out ILU when there is a build available. Thanks for your work…
