The last entry in the feature list for pure basic :- “Access to full OS API for advanced programmers”

When would an ‘advanced programmer’ be using Basic :
A better description would be “Access to full OS API, ideal for when you discover you’ve chosen the wrong tool for the job” ;D

Incidentally,

You can use .net 2.0 … any judge who doesn’t have it will be able to install it to test your game. As long as it works on a windows PC you can use pretty much anything.

So you don’t need to worry about including a JRE in that 6mb.
