Two questions:
Is it possible for Observers of a project to comment on their own Issues? Currently in the Xith3D project observers are unable to do that
Is it possible to get a tarball or some other form or raw (read only) access to the CVS repository? SourceForge gives you nightly tarballs of the CVS repository which I find very useful for backing up reasons
If it’s not possible now - then I suggest that both of those features would be very handy indeed.

We figured out a workaround for the first point - creating a new “Tester” role and giving that role the ability to edit issues.
I still think it would be better to give Observer role this ability system wide. Also, due to the lack of fine grained permissions, even with the workaround you can’t give the user the ability to comment on issues without giving them total control over the issue system (closing issues etc.).

Good to hear you could come up with something. I am still waiting to heat back from the collabnet folks on another issue. Once they back to me I will bringyour issues up again.
