Death Boulder Jones - LD #21

Here is the game I made for LD21, in 14 hours. It painfully needs balance and gameplay tweaking which I will be adding later. Also, it is made in Unity, but I won’t tell if you don’t.

The premise is that you are a spirit in a temple and you’re trying to keep an adventurer from getting killed. You can create rainbow walls in front of him which he will avoid, but otherwise he just runs forward like an idiot - whether it’s into treasure or lava. You also use your walls to block arrow shooters, enclosing walls of death, and the like.

I will be redoing all the level design and tweaking gameplay in the next week or two if you want to wait for it to be playable. I myself have only beaten it twice, it’s incredibly difficult as-is. I basically spent the last 30 minutes dragging assets into the scene until I had what I deemed a large enough level. I didn’t even have time to playtest it before I submitted.

Such a bad time to have so many things scheduled over the weekend…

Oh wow I didn’t know I was looking through unity-gaming.org, UGO.

Really nice looking game though
However I agree with most comments, it was really fast paced and hard! Plus I was still a bit confused on how the rainbows worked :S Aha I figured out how to use the rainbows correctly. However it is still a bit too fast paced so I couldn’t place them on time

Did you try slo-mo? Hold space. It helps a lot.

But yeah, I’m editing it now to make the guy slower and to have short levels, so restarting isn’t such a pain.

Aha thanks for the SPACE advice  It’s quite fun now! Great game

Did the tutorial at the beginning work for you, or did you skip it/not read it? It could be less wordy, of course.

Ah the tutorial went a bit too fast/I couldn’t finish reading most of it
I must have missed where it talked about the space.

Cool, good to know.

I’m reworking it all so you get a lot of short levels and the new mechanics are added slowly (instead of all at once). I’ll post it when I’ve finished adjusting all that.
