creating swing look&feel

hello,

does anyone of you have any experience in creating a swing look&feel?

i am especially interested in styling the heavyweight components like JFrame, JDialog, etc.

these can be activated by setting
JDialog.setDefaultLookAndFeelDecorated(true);

thanks a lot for any pointers to tutorials.

Creating a look and feel is not complicated, but it is a lot of work. When starting out you should look through the source of Metal Look and Feel to see how it works, especially MetalLookAndFeel.java

Also be sure to check the platform look and feel’s as included in <JDK_HOME>\src\com\sun\java\swing\plaf\ . And Captain Jester is right that it’s a looot of work :slight_smile:
