Wow, you’re a real enthusiast  I like it when people are enthusiastic and show some humor in their posts. I do understand your idea, but try to be a little less recursive and a bit more specific. Is there a certain type of game you want to create? Do you already have an idea? What are your own experiences, what kind of people do you need to fill in roles you can’t fullfill yourself?

Just some basics I want to give to you (just for free! :D)

ty =)

You already tried to make a dev team from here didn’t you?

ptss Noo… why?

I have a tip for your 3rd try of making a team after this one fails…

  1. Think of a interesting concept to create.
  2. Create a prototype thats interesting enough to engage people with your idea.
  3. Tell people how its made and ask if someone is interested to join you in this concept.
  4. If more then 2 people are interested, then start with your demands

am creating a team right now not a game -.- after i have a team then team dicides what to do and it said we do 2d top down , and 2d platformer

That won’t work, I have a project that is already under way, with a plan in a general direction and even then people are hesitant. I heard that was my attitude though…

What makes you think that 2D games can’t make money?

It seems like you are focusing more on your audience than an actual game. Make a game first and then people will want to know more about your game.

So you’re asking for people with more experience than you and yet you are the team leader?

I am confused by about half of this post. You seem to like to go off on tangents instead of focusing on recruiting people for a team. Also, you need to have some sort of prototype to get people interested in this. I would suggest working on a game for a while and then come back and try to get people to join your team.

You have nothing to offer, so you better start making something to offfer :stuck_out_tongue:

Knowledge, you might not know something another team member knows

There are already two great places for that. Google and JGO

Well, what about your project(s?) ::slight_smile:
OK, Im already fired for my ‘since’ of humor I guess :stuck_out_tongue:

And generally speaking someone with 4 years experience (for instance) knows more than you do (with 2 years experience if you aren’t lying). Its just how it goes. Sure, no one knows it all, and sure the “more experienced” people can learn from the “less experienced” people, but in programming that is rare. Why? Because after you get the concept of programming down then you can learn anything you want.

This might be a reason for a team (ignoring Longarmx true comment), but not for making this team with you.

So, we do or do not have to know how to program? BlahBlah90%crapBlahBlahBlahBlah90%crapBlahBlahBlahBlah90%crapBlahBlahBlahBlah90%crapBlahBlahBlahBlah90%crapBlahBlahBlahBlah90%crapBlahBlahBlahBlah90%crapBlahBlah

I really like this forum… we have a whole lot of people who are just excited and really want to join up with other folks. Maybe if all of you people looking for help would combine forces, then you can make a small team. However, it’ll probably be a fight to who can lead such a team, and if the goals aren’t aligned well… I don’t see any game coming out of it. A very good learning experience, but not a game.

People are fickle…

We all have reasons for why we do things, and since our time is limited, we actually spend time on things where we “believe” that time is well spent. In my view, I always think about why someone would want to spend time playing my programs when there are programs more powerful and better than mine. When joining a team, it is really the same thing.

“Why would someone join your team when there are job corporations and huge indie development teams they can join?”

The answer is simple, and it usually is that the team has an “ideal” you believe in, and/or a game you want to work on. Most of the time, people will just volunteer their services if they see the project you are working on is worth their time. People who were on this site that have been slaving away like the developers of PuppyGames, FarSky, and Intergalactic Trash Man (etc.) are just better candidates because you can see that they “know” how to produce games from what they can show.

Anyway, keep that in mind. I would definitely love to see the people who are willing to start their own teams actually combine forces. It’d be interesting as each person obviously would have the tenacity to work. As long as each person is trying to best the other in terms of work ethic, there is a very good chance you’d be able to produce a game.

May I point out that most of us actually have lifes with school, work etc. You can’t expect people to work 6-12h a day (although I usually do, but that doesn’t mean everyone does. Besides after 6-8h of straight coding your mind won’t really coop any longer)

You may clap in your hands if you find someone who is willing to work 1-2h a day.

6-12h! Wow. Congrats on finding ANYONE who wants to work for that long without earning anything.

If sleep counts as work then that’s me.
