Convertion rate for the Xbox Live Arcade

Hmmm that sounds like a nice convertion rate, a Java enabled service like that would be nice 8)

[quote]Greg Canessa, a group manager for Xbox Live Arcade, said the downloadable games service has been surprisingly successful for the company.

About 5 million free trial games have been downloaded by Xbox 360 owners, he said, and 21.7 percent of those have been “converted,” meaning a person decided to pay for the permanent version.

Has anybody used it? How do they handle the billing? I would guess if you only have to give away your credit card account one time it would lure more players to spontaneously buy games.

A friend of mine used it the other day. Its very simple you put in your credit card number and select the number of “Points / Gold” you want. I think it was like $6 for 600 gold on the live service. Then you pay with that to get the arcade games or extra content for games. One game for example “Joust” was 400 gold. So different things vary in price but its a solid idea and works within seconds of purchasing the gold.

Wow, 6 dollars on a credit card? You’d think that the transaction costs for Microsoft would make that silly. Maybe they plan to have massive volume.

Do some countries have XboxLive vouchers available at local kiosks and newspaper stands. Buy vouchers and activate credits to your account?

Hi,

In the Netherlands you can buy Microsoft points. They are selling 2100 points. It is a card that has a key which you enter in the ‘Redeem’ section. The price differ from store to store ( :o ) so it is good practice to 'shop’around.
Last time I bought it for 24.95 Euros.

That’s not a real conversion rate, it doesn’t mean what other people mean when they say conversion rate ;). Have a look around the web for more info, I’m sure this must have been covered in op-ed’s by now.
