Control 2 mice on linux

Hi,
I am currently developing a java app which is controlled by 2 mice. 1 mouse will have normal mouse behaviour whilst the other mouse needs to a specific widget on the app. Can someone tell me:

  1. Can I use the standard java api?
  2. How do I detect the appropriate mouse?

Just looking at JInput and the api.

Do you know of some examples I can look at? In particular detecting the two mice?
