Collision detection between placeable geoms which have no bodies?

Hello,

Can I detect collision between geoms without bodies?
Because when rigid bodies go into collision, they bounce.
(I’d like to thank t_larkworthy for his advice on removing bounciness of rigid bodies, however there is still very little bounce :-[).

you could, but you would need to change odejava natives - there a check in the nearcallback that prevents body-less geoms from colliding with each other…

What about creating no contact-joint for your collisions but handle it yourself? This would ensure you get no bounce… this topic was discussed on the ODE mailing list recently - have a look.

Your advice has been very helpful.

I tested my collision without contact-joints and rigid bodies feel collision but there are no bounce between them!!!
They just feel touching each other. As a result, they do no extra movement. That’s what I needed.
