Client-side Java developer with interest in Digital Video

Not a gaming job. But I figured you guys have a lot of client-side development experience and possibly interest in digital video and other ‘cool’ stuff.

This is not a boring job maintaining some database app for some random insurance company or bank.

We work with cutting edge video technology. High definition stuff, advanced media streaming and encoding… all that junk. We have a great work environment.

This position requires an experienced developer with strong OO skills.

While we do have an office in the UK, I think we really want this person to work in the Markham, ON, Canada office :).

Though one of our sales/support guys over there does some odd custom programs for some of our European clients.

Java Programmer

Job Description:
Digital Rapids is seeking a senior level software engineer to design and
develop a high end video processing application for the post production
and video broadcast industries. This application will be used by major
studios and broadcasters to manage high definition video content. This
position will expand to include working on other Java based
applications.

Skills required:
Must have strong practical experience developing rich Java client
applications using OO design patterns. Experience with Java 5, Swing,
JUnit, JNI, XML, C/C++ on Windows is required. Experience on Linux
and a working understanding of Apple OS X is a benefit. 5+ years of Java
development with multiple projects from inception through completion.

Skills preferred:
Eclipse or NetBeans IDE, Ant, Hibernate/EJB3, SQL, RDBMS, RMI, Version
Control. Experience with digital video, image processing or related
fields a plus. B.Eng / BS in Computer Science or equivalent in real
world product development.
