check if Choice box is open or closed

hi, how can i tell if a awt choice box is open or not?
thanks,
roland

box.isSelected()

http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/javax/swing/AbstractButton.html#isSelected()

(I assume by choice box you mean either a radio button or a check box)

I think he might mean window when he says box??

but I may be wrong.

if so: there is probably a isVisible() call in JFrame.

Just to be contrary, I’m going to suggest he’s talking about java.awt.Choice. In which case my suggestion is to ditch AWT and start using Swing (where this is the equivalent). It’ll look better, work better, and other people will know how to use it and be able to answer your questions.

Heh, yeah, that makes sense. I’ve never even bothered with AWT.

thanks for the replies. I will switch to swing.
I was talking about java.awt.Choice sorry for not being clearer.
Can anyone give me some links to learning swing for applets?
I’m having problems with buttons not showing up unless i hover over them. :frowning:

well I guess bleb was right

bows very formally lol
