cant remember the name of a game.

I cant remember the name of a game that I saw a play through on youtube of. It was a cool game a lot like retro pixel castles however as that is not complete I would like to find this one so I can get into the genre , so here it goes with the terribly vague description.

I remember that it had a similar look and feel to retro pixel castles , you would setup a small village with warriors and workers inside an area , you could build walls and then raiders would attempt to attack the base. 2D top down 8bit-esque sandboxy game.

Obviously not the game you’re thinking of, but Dwarf Fortress covers that description (and a lot more) pretty well.

Was it a “retro” game or was it actually an old 90s game? Because that sounds a lot like Castles 1, or Castles 2: Siege and Conquest. By your description though, it sounds more like Castles 1. Those really aren’t like modern village sims, but a lot of the village sims have roots there even if they don’t realize it.

Whats hilarious (to me anyway), is when I looked up these videos, I just realized how similar my villagers are to Castle’s little guys. :stuck_out_tongue:

it was a retro game and had an extremely similar style to yours. incredibly similar , top down a lot like a game called space station 13 but wiht smaller graphics.

sounds like rimworld

I was thinking that too, but Rimworld’s graphics are more modern, they remind me of Prison Architect.

Another retroish village sim is Towns, but Towns isnt really “retro”.

First game that came to mind was Rampart.

totally forgot about Rampart! That’s a pretty good guess.

it looks a lot like itmight be rimworld , ill take a look.
