Can you sell jogl games?

Can anyway tell me the policies and agreements involving selling jogl and java programs? Or any java program for that matter?

I do not wish to sell any of my java programs but I do intend to submit my game based on jogl+java into the IGF contest this year and they require you to have the rights to commercially publish your game. I’ve read through the java license agreement but some parts aren’t clear for enough for me to make any assumptions. If anyone could help me it would be a great help. Thanks!

The Java license is about how you can (and cannot) distribute the JRE. (among other things)

You can distribute a JRE for free (bundled with your application), you just must not modify it, like removing files you won’t need. No other (relevant) restrictions apply.

You probably don’t want to distribute a JRE anyway (think of the datatraffic on your server!), so you don’t have to worry about anything: you can make as much money as you can, and never have to pay Sun a penny.

Thanks for that information! With my application I made an installer that bundles it with the JRE so that the person doesn’t have to go and download the JRE elsewhere to play the game. All of the binaries are indeed intact and aren’t modified so I guess I’m dont have anything to worry about! Thanks again!
