Can LWJGL do windowed windows, as opposed to full screen windows?
Sure, Display’s create method is as follows:
public static void create(DisplayMode displayMode, boolean fullscreen, String title)
The windowed mode isn’t full featured at this time though - you can’t drag the window around or resize it. ;D I personally expect all that to change soon though.
I had the impression that you were going to remove the windowed mode option from lwjgl and focus on fullscreen only?
hehe - that was what Cas wanted, however Me and Elias disagreed violently - and thus Windowed mode is much better supported. Due to a small bug in 0.5, dragging window and such hasn’t worked. It works fine in 0.6 (cvs builds).
We won’t be doing resizing and stuff like that, since it is much harder to do (as a developer) and the amount of people needing can probably be counted on one hand…
Fantastic!
Resizing can wait for another day, if at all. For what the library is designed for, it “shouldn’t” be necessary. Being able to move the window around is great.
Will there be a “proper” debug/no debug switch in 0.6, rather than debug if in windowed, no debug in fullscreen?
hmm, as far as I know LWJGL picks up on the -ea / -enableasserts flag and is in debug mode if that is on, not windowed/fullscreen - or has this changed recently?
Ah, oh. Maybe it’s changed then. Ignore me! ;D
