When posting your resumé at a javagaming site, why not do it in a crossplatform friendly format, not .doc?

Seriously, of all the good places I worked submiting a resume as a .doc would make your first impression a poor one. Submit it as either plain text or a pdf. HTML is alright as a replacement for plain text if you keep the look simple.

…except in the UK, where our recruitment agents can mostly either chew gum or walk, and .doc is just about all they can cope with. Seriously.

Agreed! I’ve been down that path and attempted to distribute my CV in PDF before. Not a chance. No-one wanted to touch anything that wasn’t a Word doc, except one company who required RTF… ::slight_smile:

Sad though it is, in the UK always go with a Word CV. (And, incidentally, always turn up to the interview with a few copies of your CV to hand out - I’ve met with way too many agencies that rewrite your CV for distribution, to the point that it’s completely and utterly wrong!)
