Blocks_64x64

Hello JGO,

Today I will show you how I make games different from the rest of you (EDIT: Not necessarily better, just different). I prefer building to other things in video games, and that’s all that Blocks_64x64 is about. There is no other goal other than to build interesting things by editing the map.txt file to create worlds out of 5 block types: grass, dirt, stone, leaves, and sky. The tiles are 64x64 pixels. Just a little info: This game was created in 40 mins - 1 hour, just to see what I could do in that time period. I kind of liked it, so I posted it here to see if other people liked it as well.

The hate here that was here is pretty unjustified, maybe he’ll improve the game to be unique? The point is you don’t know and there’s honestly no reason to be flaming him over such a small thing. Most of you have posted things far worse than claiming to have a unique game.

So let us give the next post to DarkCart: What is special?

Sounds like an excuse to flame people… :point: just saying… :stuck_out_tongue:

You know, for those who do believe this, there is a little thing called “self control”.

Chances are a huge chunk of this will be put into the monster, but we have to realize that everyone starts somewhere. Jumping on someone for not doing something is all too easy. Instead, telling them how to improve is the better course of action. If you can’t tell people how to improve, I beseech on those people writing comments not to write at all.

We don’t win discouraging developers. Negative comments are never justifiable. [/derail]

As for this game, I’d love to see a character and some kind of conflict. Having a basic Lego world gives us nothing more than Paint or GIMP. Without physics, it will be very hard for me to invest myself building in this world. The basic idea is there, but a character would make this building game a lot more interactive for the player at large. My 2 cents…

Haters and hater haters, all with arguments, but still haters.
Please, do not derail this game thread or at least wait until DarkCart explains special.

I never said that my game was better than others, I was just showing you my take on it.

Could you expand upon what is different about your game? I’m not criticisizing you, I’m simply trying to help you so that when people read this thread they may be less offended or put off which will significantly reduce the amount of derailing. Just some basic info would be nice, all I see right now is a tile game which is, no offense, very simple to make in just a few minutes.

I’m sorry I didn’t explain it. I will do this right now.
