But I felt like this is quality game/engine that is definitely worth sharing.

Well, sort of - javascript at least!
I’m quite impressed. For a non-plugin game it’s not bad at all, and the engine/designer looks pretty effective too for platformers.
I was like yeah this is ok, until I saw what it was made in.
Couldn’t get it running on my Android though.
very impressive work and a stark warning that Flash’s days are numbered in the niche market for small 2d web games.
Oh I don’t think Flash will be going anywhere any time soon.
Cas
Yeah, Flash is often going nowhere fast on my machine! ;D
There’s definitely some cool JS stuff coming out these days. Not sure if anyone’s mentioned processing.js around these parts before, but that’s fun if you want to stick with Java (the language). And the related hascanvas.com is pretty cool too!
I like html5 and javascript stuff, it worked great on my firefox 3.6 but I tried on my ipod touch and it doesn’t worked
This is indeed really nice! A great showcase for HTML 5 game caps. Would be interesting to know the performance of much bigger windows though. I know that due to the average screen res, 640x480 is very often the max but that would be nice to know how HTML 5 + JS perform.
HTML 5 seems to be the future for light online games, and web apps. It’s a matter of years.
Firefox is currently the limiting factor, but Firefox 4 is a lot faster. The JavaScript engine is way faster and drawing itself and the (now much smarter) final compositing step is also faster. Hardware acceleration is also on its way, which will improve things even more.
Even without hardware acceleration it’s comparable to Java2D, I’d say. It performs reasonably well but there are a lot less surprises. Using big or translucent images is fine for example.
Of course there is a lot less processing power available, but you don’t really need all that much for most genres. Compared to Flash, there is more processing power available though.
Thanks for the link! That’s very impressive! I’m now considering starting to make games in JS instead of Java.
It’s cool, but why did the music continue to play after I closed the tab…? (Firefox)
Thats cool.
work nice, ( did not work with IE 9 , I used Firefox little slow)
offtopic : there was a world that has existed before HTML5 http://www.elizium.nu/scripts/lemmings/ (since 2004)
http://www.dhteumeuleu.com/ ( my favorit DHTML website ) also started to make some HTML5 sample => http://www.dhteumeuleu.com/canvas-3d/
