I proudly present you my first small game - ‘Bat Potato’.
Its a game like these “Helicopter” games from the 80’s.You avoid the Boxes while you collect the coins.

some nice things:
-the Developing experience was quite nice, it grow from a smaller game i made for an coursera course.most of the problems i faced where non programming - how to make sound, draw pixel art,… .
-Now its in the PlayStore and im facing more programming like problems ( force close on nexus7 , black screen on some HTC )- its interesting to get feedback from different devices
-trying to extent/improve the game is quite funny
-working with LibGdx is a hell lot of fun

not so nice things:
-One of the few annoying things is that everyone thinks its another bad flappy bird clone , it even was banned from an appstore.
-still some annoying bugs on some device, where the parallax scrolling textures doesn’t close up, theres sometimes a small gap between them.
-sounds bugs - on some device the sound seems to be delayed

I find it quite enjoyable. You should propably work on the physics a bit more. The way it falls doesn’t feel so smooth.

Another version of flappy bird? >.<

It kinda is yes but lots of people make clones to develop programming skills, looks ok. Will give it a shot later.

I kind of feel like making a quick flappy bird clone now. I haven’t made my own yet!

It is quite different from flappy bird actually.

Quite or slightly, clarify because if I make a game called Guns Of War and copy every single game mechanic from Call of Duty while changing the graphics, then that makes it a clone with a different name.

Congratulations for finishing your first game!

For me it does not make sense that flying too high in open air causes death. You could put some obstacles above or let the bat fly high but death occurs when flying completely off-screen.
