I realized today that Base 10 is a very special base. Regardless of whether your species has ten fingers, or two or six or twenty, you will all say that you use Base 10!

Aahhh… now I got what you wrote. Wow, took a while, you’re right. In a positional notation every species would say 10. hehe.
In conclusion it would mean that there would actually be no possibility for two species with different numbers of fingers to say “how many” of something anything is, other than visually counting them or equally using base 1.
What base is that 10 in “Base 10”?.. no one would know.
