Back on the bike

So I just went on an off-road bike ride for the first time since October, I stopped after breaking my collar bone, wrist and a nasty bump to the head.

So today was my first day back on it, damn it felt good. My ass however, feels like I have been the victim of a prison shower gangbang.

Anyone else into mountain biking?

Not mountain biking, but I enjoy dirt biking, but haven’t since Feb '13 as I fractured some vertebrae and my motorbike is still bent.

Lol ouch, I’ve done some quad biking. That was hella fun.

How well did it heal? My shoulder still goes all stiff.

I do a little mountain biking and I swear my seat turns into a rock after a few minutes.

It will probably remain that way for a long time if I allow myself to be the bringer of bad news. I broke my ankle end of January last year, needed surgery. Now a year later my ankle still “feels” different. A little stiffness here, some collection of fluid if I don’t move it for extended periods of time… I attribute that mostly to there being a winter in between in which I did not walk as much, now that I’m out doing 10+km walks, it slowly starts to turn into a “normal” ankle again.

Be careful with that shoulder; too many people get a locked up shoulder because something happened to it and they start to move and use it differently to compensate. It sucks when that happens as rehabilitation is usually very painful and takes months. Better do daily exercises.

When I don’t exercise often my back starts to hurt quite badly, but as long as I often go out on the trampoline and stuff I’m fine.

I also find doing mindless exercise can not only be relieving on my back (and fun), but also help me tackle problems with my code and think up cool new things I’d like to do.

No mountain-biking for me, I prefer riding road bikes

The seat (saddle?) isn’t my problem, since because of the handlebar being very low, I mostly put my weight on my arms and legs and only a little on the seat.

When I feel like it I also bike in the woods with my road bike (yes… Sorry bike for treating you so bad  ).

For now my bike riding hobby is stopped, because It just died when I bunny hopped with it. That means my inner tube got a snake-bite (two very deep slits from the wheel rim).
That wouldn’t be too bad if my bicycle frame didn’t break… Yep…

I was quite surprised, because It’s not the first time I bunny-hopped. But it’s not quite surprising that the frame broke down, too, since my bike has already been ridden 20.000 km (18kkm did my farther ride).

So I’m really sad now. But luckely we (our family) have a spare frame and we already fixed everything except that I now need a new saddle tube and a new gearing (becase the other frame has different measures).

I’m sorry if you couldn’t understand what I wrote. Usually my vocabulary is enough for writing programming related forum posts, but when it comes to bikes I literally need to look up every 4th word. ^^

I bike to my classes here in downtown Atlanta. I love it, and hopefully I won’t get hit my a car anytime soon

Do that on a mountain bike and enjoy your snapped arms first rock :stuck_out_tongue:

Chicks dig scars
