Just wanted to share a little Google doc that I made on Astrofirm a while back: here

Cool! The tree leaves look a little blue though, I don’t know if that’s intentional to make it look like the sky is shining through, but I would say make them a little more green!

Thanks, the blue was intentional but if it doesn’t look good I’ll change it back

By the way, the sky’s blue looks a little bit too green^^

I like the way you generate your trees with the different heights, it’s a really nice touch. Have you tried adjusting the green parts to match the tree heights as well? Also I like the more blue ever green colors in the last screen shot. Actually the last screen shot has awesome colors all around. :slight_smile:

I’m actually surprised that nobody has asked about the frog.

Frog? I thought that it’s a weird cursor ;D

Well, it seems like if you have to see it moving to recognize it as a frog.

In all seriousness though, this game has gone a long way. That one post with the before and after picture really says a lot! Do you plan for this game to become a huge minions-game (commanding a army of selfless little people that will do anything for you, even at the cost of their own life)?

And the land generation is beautifully put together!

I just find it funny that I lost this thread a while ago, and found it again under a new name. Now, it looks freaking awesome! Keep up the good work!

Thanks man, to answer your,question, the engine can support a couple hundred minions in its state but , being a 2d game, things can get really crowded really fast.

It has been a long time since I’ve released a downloadable update so here is one: download

Same controls as before with some added:
WASD- move camera
K-spawn frog
F-flashlight

I wouldn’t recommend using any minions controls because they are overly complicated at this stage

Happy New Year everyone!! It’s been a great year, Astrofirm has come so far in the past few months but without the help and support of the beautiful people on this forum, Astrofirm would be nothing.

So since it’s a new year, a few new things have happened or will happen:

  1. I got a new computer (quad-core 3.6ghz, raedon 7700 graphics card, Windows 8.1) so expect faster updates and more videos!

  2. I am going to stop releasing new versions of Astrofirm until it goes into beta. This is because I want to polish it more before very many copies get out there. I will still be posting updates along the way on here and my tumblr as time goes on but it won’t be available for download.

  3. I will be making a website. I don’t now when but It will be made :wink:

I added a mini Launcher with various options:

I won’t be releasing a new version till the end of Alpha but it will be well worth the wait. :slight_smile:
