Looks like Apple are continuing with their phasing out of java
If you look at the developer information for Lion, they’re revamping the UI to look more like an iPad. It seems to me they want to position the Mac as a desktop iPad with a keyboard with sales and subscriptions via the App Store.
They clearly want 30% of developers revenue stream. Surely this will add 30% to all Mac software costs compared to the comparable application cost on the PC. Would it be legal to include terms and conditions that Apps sold in the App Store are as cheap as all other sources of the app on all other platforms. I think greed has clouded their judgement.
