Apple Collector (pretty original game)

Here is my creation www.nulch.com/apple/apple.htm. Directions are on the page. I’d really appreciate any feedback or improvement suggestions for the game or extra levels (directions for creating levels are linked at the bottom of the page). And the name of the game definately sucks (AppleCollector!?!?!?!), so if you have any better ideas leave them here. I’ll be checking in on this thread.

Thanks for your help, my lab rats.

Very original game indeed! But exceedingly difficult. You want to ramp the difficulty level up much, much, much more slowly.

I don’t see any apples, just a grey BG and a white line. And I can draw thick blue lines that then disappear when I let go of the mouse (they don’t remain, like the instructions claim). And then it tells me I failed. Which sucks.

original, nice idea, but very difficult!!!

Very original as prinsec said, but far to difficult. Very nice little game, just make it little easier… ;D

Original, but I found it a little boring. :frowning:

Just not my type of game i suppose. Maybe, as others have said reduce the difficulty level and ease the user in.

Worked fine under OS X 10.3.4 with Java.1.4.2_04

blahblahblahh,

which version of the jvm and which browser are you running? I haven’t seen problems like that before.

1.4.2_05 and appletviewer (mozilla 1.7 has a bug on debian where it’s started crashing if it loads applets, and I need 1.7 because it has critical fixes to the email and browser that aren’t present in earlier releases :frowning: ).

NB: the text seemed to display correctly, i.e. there were numbers at the bottom of the screen that were updating apparently in line with something happening in the game-logic, (perhaps number of girders, number of apples caught, etc?) but because I haven’t seen a screenshot I can’t guarantee they were rendering as intended :).

This is excellent, I love these kinds of games/puzzles.

To remove a girder right click on a girder while the cursor is over it

Right now it’s more like place a grinder anywere and the other one will disappear :stuck_out_tongue:

1.4.2_03 win98se

I made a few more levels to soften the learning curve from levels 1-2, I’ll work on creating some more levels between the difficulty of the former level 2 and 3 (now level 5 and 6) now

Very cool game,
only issue I had was damn stupid Mozilla catching right mouse clicks within the Applets context area =/

Not your fault at all, im sure there is an option in 1 of these here menus - I just havn’t found it yet.

If you find some way to turn that off, could you please post it. I should prolly post instructions for that on the site, since many people will be having that problem.

could you stop making addictive games plz? Im gonna get fired! ;D

Very nice game.
It took a while before I figured it out, but once that
was done it was very addictive as said before.

Good job!

Nice. works well on OS X10.3.4 JRE 1.4.2_05

Reminds me a little of Enigmo. http://www.pangeasoft.net/enigmo/
which is very cool.

Definately original!

Very smooth graphics.

Hard. :frowning:

Boxes at bottom don’t make sense for awhile. :frowning:

Sound? ???

Could only make one girder at a time. Is that supposed to happen?

Keep going.

excellent! it’s really fun! ;D
(and i don’t find it too hard, just hard enough to be challenging)

That was a good game ;D
