Anyone remember this game?

Hello, everyone! My first post here.

I remember playing a game, which I’m sure I played on the Commodore 64 (yes, I’m that old!).

The game was where you controlled a helicopter and you had to pick up people that were trapped in houses. You had to shoot the house to let the people out. There were aliens that would try to pick up a person and if the alien reached the top of the screen the person “died”. As the alien with a person was ascending you could shoot the alien which would then drop the person and you had to swoop down to catch him before he hit the ground.

You could also land on the ground to pick up people, but if you landed on the people it would kill them.

I believe it had a Defender style forward and backward looking radar at the top of the screen where you could tell if an alien was picking up a person and carting them off and if there were any people on the ground.

Does anyone remember this game and what is was called? Anything similar like it written in Java?

Thanks

Fort Apocalypse’ maybe?

kappa,

That definitely fits the description that I had but I don’t remember that game at all. But Choplifter https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCrKd0fM1CY came up in the sidebar. I’m pretty sure this is it but it doesn’t have the radar nor did it have any aliens picking up the guys so I guess I’m adding in stuff from a different game.

Your reply did help, thanks!

Just want to hop into here:
Welcome to the JGO forum!

If you appreciate kappa’s help, press the “Appreciate” button (I think it should be visible for you, but I’m not sure :persecutioncomplex: ), generally we all appreciate that ;D

matheus23,

Thanks for the tip and I would certainly do it but the button isn’t visible to me.

I believe Defender is the “radar and aliens” game you’re remembering. Both Choplifter and Defender were big arcade titles “back in the day” and I recall both of them having a C= release at one point or another. (Yes, I’m that old too.)
