Any current developers using JInput?

Hey,

We’ve got a terrific bunch of folks doing Jinput development and porting. (Again mega-thanks to GP for the Mac port and Endolf for the Linux port.)

I was wondering if anyone is using it yet? Ii have half a mind to add it in to Scroller as soon as I get a chance. I was wondering who else might be actively developing with it currently?

JK

I am, just to get away from the crutch of AWT events - especially since they don’t work well with the JOGL event loop.

yup - using it all over the shop… mostly in jogl… it rocks once you got the hang of it :).

Cool guys, thanks.

leyt me knwo what issues you run into. This is stil lpretty early in this APIs life and Im sure we’re bound to run into things.

If someone - anyone? - will write an overview of JInput (e.g. a good package.html might even be enough) so that I know how it fits together, I’d like to use it on a quick little game.

I could also then find out how linux + JInput feel about a laptop with a tablet, a mouse, a trackpad AND a nipple all installed and operational at once. Could be fun 8)

A nipple!? Just what kind of game are you making  ? (Need any beta testers ;D?)

We’re not using it in Wurm because we’re relying quite heavily on AWT for the gui and so.

Can you combine the two, so you capture keypresses for the character movement via JInput, and still have normal keylisteners for the awt windows?

Wonderfully happy, and if it’s not, i’ll introduce myself to a nice big clue by four :).
