Anticipated games from E3 ( NiGHTS! )

E3 has been a little underwealming this year, but theres still plenty of new game footage floating around, so what is everyone looking forward to?

Personally NiGHTS is looking fantastic (and I know Chris M is looking forward to it too). From the videos they seem to have got the style and feel of the original, looks like they’ve kept the same core gameplay too.

;D ;D ;D

This has the handy side effect of meaning I don’t have to waste lots of my time doing a remake for PC now as well.

LOL. I watched the video and I still don’t get what the game is about  Fly around, go through circles and collide with some stars? Seems to be great fun to play while you’re drunk though, or when you’re on some other illicit drugs ;D sorry, just had to say this. The kids will probably love this game. :-X

NiGHTS is halfway between a platformer and a racing game. In the original you have to complete multiple laps of the level, picking up the required items and hitting the checkpoints along the way. Much like the 2d Sonic games the levels are reasonably easy to complete (badly) but theres lots of scope for going back and improving your time and taking different routes.

It just looks like a fancy sonic game. I can’t say I’m impressed :-\

You really need to play it to appreciate it. It was the first console game that gave a true sense of flight and exploration. Anyone that is a fan, that I have met anyway, says they can’t describe just what makes it so damn good, and I agree. You can’t put your finger on it. A great case of the sum being greater than it’s parts. In fact, I would wager that it’s good enough for you to get a Saturn off eBay just for that game (and Panzer Dragoon Saga  )

I didn’t play KNiGHTS, but any true genius (such as myself) can see the the brilliance of its gameplay. Unlike Sonic the view allows you to see further ahead in time giving you foresight to the level. In Sonic you have to play the level a few times, and your performance is much more based on your memory and perfection of blind timing.

It’s a pretty clever system!

still waiting for Heavy Rain - the demo at E3 2006 was that awesome. Everyone who has not seen The Casting should check out the hires video.

I must say I’m looking forward to (in no particular order) Need for Speed ProStreet, Burnout Paradise, Halo 3, and Grand Theft Auto 4. I’m going to pre-order all four! ;D

Ah, the scary zombie woman. The uncanny valley strikes again. ::slight_smile:

Could not agree more. Indigo Prophecy was one of my favorite games on the PS2 and the closest, in my opinion, to playing in a movie. Really atmospheric and claustrophobic at times, it was a game that others watching you play got drawn into. Can’t wait to see what QD does with Heavy Rain!

Most anticipated for me are Assassins Creed and Wii Fit

Sorry of being 2 weeks late (I was in vacations…) but for me I can’t wait to play Zelda: phantom hourglass on DS. I’ve been waiting this game for almost a year now. Each time I watch a new gameplay movie of this game, I always get more eager to play it! I still have to wait until October… :-\
