Hasn’t been specifically tested but should work.
I ran on an ATI X800 on Mac OS X and saw problems with some of the demos, but these are probably due to bugs in Apple’s OpenGL drivers. I filed several bugs with Apple and hope they’ll be fixed at some point.
NVidia hardware and drivers have been more reliable for me personally.
I know, but ATI is the state of the art w/ NVidia in 3D rendering : it shares the market w/ it ! I can’t say to a Customer : we use Java technology for its platform independency, but we don’t support ATI technology …

There should be sufficient workarounds in the JOGL implementation for multithreading bugs seen principally in ATI’s drivers for JOGL applications to work well on ATI hardware. I hope ATI’s OpenGL drivers become more robust in the future.
