An interresting blog on java gaming at JavaOne 2008

Hello,

I’ve found the following blog about a session on java gaming that was presented at JavaOne this year. Kevglass has honors here since multiple of his games are presented. Congrats Kev! So search for title Creating Games on the Java™ Platform with the jMonkeyEngine in this big blog.

Interesting stuff, first I’d heard of it

Kev

Well, you didn’t hear about it for 3 reasons:

  1. We were never on IM at the same time

  2. We pulled together some bits at the last min

  3. Slick was also mentioned in the James Gosling keynote but we did not show a demo (time)

And, I am finally able to start answering e-mail/reading forums while at the airport leaving JavaOne!

Thanks Kev for all of the work you put into Slick, it is truly awesome. Rant into some who were using RoR to drive Slick. Interesting stuff!

Shame ya didn’t get to show DA, it’s selling like hot cakes here!

Well, mildly warm scones, but that’s better than nowt

Cas

No problem, just surprised. Is there any where we can read about what java gaming stuff was actually at JavaOne this year, get the presentations etc?

Kev

Yes, yes and yes! After I get some sleep

-Chris

Am I too early to announce that?
