Hi Gregory,
apparently, just putting the application in a particular kind of directory structure makes it “work”. Java is kind of built-in to the operating system and it just knows how to launch it if it’s in the right structure with some kind of launch config file in there to tell it what jars to use etc.
Now, we’ve got a <1% failure rate on MacOS X (compared to 35% on Windows!) - which means you are one of the extremely rare OS X users who can’t get it to work out of the box.
You are also a Java developer and we also know that developer’s machines are very frequently f*cked up in some clever way
It would be helpful if we could figure out what the peculiarity with your machine is compared to the other 99% of Macs. I have no idea where to start though! And I don’t even have a Mac so I can’t try anything for myself.
