AgentFX and Ragdolls

Hi, just wanted to tip you guys about the latest AgentFX demo; A classic Ragdoll drop.

Webstart is available at:
http://www.agency9.se/demo/ragdoll.jnlp

It have been tested on Win and Linux. Let me know how and if it works under OSX.

Have fun

On OsX.3 : doens’t work : crash during model loading (or just after) :frowning:

Lilian

Ok, thanks for the input on OSX.

// Tomas

I’m sure its great buts so dark I can’t make out the figure clearly to know. :frowning:

(WinXP, Radeon 7200)

Kev

Dark ???

It should not get dark. Can you mail me a screen dump.

Consider it done.

Kev

Nice!

If you resize it, it gets dark.

All creds to Johan who have been working on the physics and the demo

Which system do you run; card, os and drivers. Need to resolve this “dark” mystery.

Thanks

Awsome work! works fine on here, although it was a bit choppy. I.e. it would pause for a noticable time before it started again. Id say for every 1 secs worth of real-time, it paused 0.5…

WinXP, Radeon 9200 (i know, crap card!)

Can you let on any details of implementation? Im kinda interested…

runs fine on linux here, pretty good, but very cruel too the poor doll:)

This is currently an early research project. The physic engine is a layer created to work with AgentFX and is a set OO tools. The engine sits on top of a rigid body API plug-in. The test plug-in has been developed in ODE but is not limited to it. We are looking at other alternatives as well. The motivation behind the project has been to show that it is possible to do physics with AgentFX and set the foundation for a possible future product. It is not decided if and when the API will be released, it all depends if there is a demand for the product.

Cheers

Hi guys,

Another demo with ragdoll skeleton physics in AgentFX is out now. Ragdolls Reloaded.

Also check out the demo promo-movie (don’t be afraid to turn up the volume)

so when can i expected animated ragdolls that can get up after they have been blown apart?

Tomorrow? :stuck_out_tongue:

Well these ragdolls have proven to be some hardcore guys. I mean they’ve been blown away with explosives, swept away buy a block of the wall, thrown from the skys… well I wouldn’t be surprised if they can take some more beeting and still keep on moving

hehe.

I just noticed something. Them ragdolls dont look quite right…I think its because the rigidbodies that represent the bones and whatnot are of the same weight. This means that the arm of a person moves just as easily as his heavier leg. Or is this not the case?
