Adding personal bookmark functionality to the forum ?

I sometime found really interresting thread on this forum and say to myself that I must remember it, but a lot of time I cant remember the title and its become hard to found it again.

do you think a personal bookmark in the forum is a good idea and will be helpfull ? does this already exist ? and @chris would it be possible ?

(nb: cant find how to create pool  )

I was using another forum which had this feature, and I agree it would be very nice to have here. There’s also many things I would like to tab on.

Correct me if I am wrong.

but cant you have it email you when there is a reply.

i realiz the differenc but it can accomplish the same thing.

P.S: Just make the thread a browser favorite

I believe the email reply is only for threads you post in, and he is looking for a way to find older topics to use a reference, not really to see if there have been any new posts. As for using browser bookmarks, having it be a feature of the site means that it doesn’t matter what computer you use to read the site, your bookmarks would be there.

I think it would be possible, just store a list of topic ids for each user. Maybe even more interesting would be to store a list of user ids with each topic… that would allow for a way to browse “popular” past topics. The time consuming part in all of it would be writing the interface

Just click the ‘notify’ link and you’ll get updates from any topic.

If you go to your profile, click [Notifications and Email] and you’ll see all the topics you will be notified of.

So basically the ‘new feature’ is already here now, it’s just a hassle.

sure this will work but a button on every message that enable to bookmark it fastly in a personal list would be really nice.

I have to admit it woul dbe pretty nice.

since we are already talking about the ste stuff, I have noticed that the “Show new replies to your posts” sometimes doesnt pick up some stuff

Ehh… there is already such a button: [notify] on top of every topic. Click it and you’ll have ‘bookmarked’ it

Maybe you meant ‘at every reply’ with ‘every message’? In that case, it would indeed have to be added to the forum.
