I want to announce the alpha of my first game which hopefully won’t be the last (it’s under active development):

To the game:
The game is a mix of an action-RPG and a strategy game.
You start as a single character from a race of your choice. Every race has different strengths and weaknesses (lizards can reproduce themselves etc.)
The Land (in the moment only one isle) is populated by different AI-controlled factions which fight against each other.
Every Faction has a unique target related to their story (finding an relict, destroying all other factions or simply build up a big city).
Nearly everything in the gameworld will be randomly generated: Every Dungeon, the whole Landscape (excluding some houses, because they will be implemented as plans).
Over the game you can choose your own way. You can mine in dungeons or lead a robber band. There is no specific goal and the game never ends.
The game always wants to give the player a challenge: You are mighty and have a big fortress? Oh no, your folks start a rebellion.
The fighting system is in a hack’n’slay-like style. Press the buttons as fast as you can but if you play as a archer or a mage you have to think of course.
There will be around a dozen different weapons (bows, crossbows, swords, daggers, axes, staffs, spears) everyone with unique animations.
The controlls will be optimized for keyboard and gamepad. I also have build in a splitscreen mode (without player limit, but we will see) so you can play with friends together on one pc.
I used Slick for the rendering. Tilemap and all Objects, Particles etc. will be calced from my own system.
For the Moment i don’t make an playable demo until the game is ready for you 
(and until i understand webstart with slick…) but i can make videos.
When i have enough things in the game (ki, factions, cities, dungeons) that it makes fun i will start to make regular releases.
